In the following clip from Ice T’s The Art of Rap documentary Kanye West reveals that he didn’t write on his first four albums. He would actually just go into the booth and rap from the top of his head. This was his recording process all the way up until My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
I would have to say that by him writing his lyrics on his “Dark Fantasy” album, one can definitely tell the difference. Wonder if he got the idea to just rap from the head from Jay-Z. Probably so. Hit the jump to watch the clip.
