For those of you that will in NYC next weekend here is an event worth checking out; especially if you’re a meat eater.
Saturday Augut 4th, Openhouse Gallery presents Best of the Wurst, a one-day dining pop up at Openhouse 379 Broome, featuring the most delicious wursts in the city. From currywurst to knockwurst, kasekrainer to merguez, Italian to Moroccan to Austria, The Best on the Wurst celebrates the best of the best. Of the wurst.
Kurt Gutenbrunner’s Blaue Gans, der Kommissar, Esposito’s, Katz’s Delicatessen, Pete Zaaz & Open Kitchen and Schaller & Weber will all be on hand, in one place at one time, to grill up their own special creations. Complementing the wunder these elite chefs and butchers are gonna create are Radeberger Pilsner tallboys, Openhouse’s new 379 Broome St. space and a chance to vote on your favorite.
Ticketing Details
The pop up runs from noon to 8 pm, tickets are $35 for one-hour sessions, six artisanal hand-crafted wurst (like Schaller & Weber’s Nurnberger sausage with sauerkraut and Dusseldorf-style mustard and Esposito’s parsley- and sharp provolone-laced sausage), six homemade sides (like Pete Zaaz’s chickpea tagine), a Radeberger and a chance to vote for your favorite.
