A Look At the New Brooklyn Nets Logo
The Nets have left their longtime home nestled in the state of New Jersey to return back to the state that birthed them–New York. Having had their start in Long Island as the New York Nets the team moved to Jersey 35 years ago. Now with Brooklyn born rapper Jay-Z on the ownership board the team will be returning to his hometown.
The team doesn’t officially move to the BK borough until April 30th and a tight lock has been kept on the details surrounding the team’s new logo. A few days ago a post was made to Hov’s Life + Times site showed an outline of a shield with the text #HELLOBROOKLYN written beneath it. Immediately speculation was made as to whether or not this was a preview of the new Nets logo.
Shortly after, the photo above was leaked to Twitter by an IT worker who claims to be working in the Barclays Center, the Nets’ new home. There is still speculation over the the authenticity of the image; however, a few mainstream news sources including the New York Post have confirmed that the leaked photo is indeed the official new logo for the Brooklyn Nets.
Whether this is the new logo Nets logo or not will won’t be confirmed until sometime next week. Until then all we can do is wait.
