Photo x Video: ‘Million Hoodie March’ For Trayvon Martin

Yesterday, thousands of protesters gathered in New York City’s Union Square for what was called the “Million Hoodie March.” The demonstration was set up in memory of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed African American teen, gunned down by a self-appointed neighborhood watch captain, George Zimmerman, in Florida.

The march started off with the parents of the young teen Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton addressing the crowd. Afterward demonstrators including some from Occupy Wall Street, marched from 14th to 22nd street wearing hoodies and holding cans of Arizona Ice Tea and Skittles (items Trayvon had when he was gunned down).

Here are some of the photos and video footage that we captured from the march. If you haven’t done so already, please sign the petition to help get justice for Trayvon’s family.
