Young Jeey “TM:103: Hustlerz Ambition” Listening Event Recap

Last night I was at the TM:103 listening event and to say the least TM:103 Hustlerz Ambition is sounding like it’s going to be a classic. The listening was held at Quad Studios in Manhattan and guests included Def Jam staff, music executives and a “who’s who” list of media professionals.

As far as the album, it has a pretty damn dope feel to it and provides a nice combination of street, feel good and motivational records that you can play for whatever mood you’re in. Snow definitely has some heat and a good amount of singles to choose from. That being said, it’s safe to say that that classic motivational Jeezy is definitely back on this one!

As far as individual records, “I Do” with Hov and Andre 3000 is definitely one of my favorites. Just think of Heatmakerz crack music circa the Dipset days and you can get an idea of how it sounds. The full intro is dope too and “Trap” with Jill Scott is a serious banger. Believe me when I say she ripped that record.

In regard to mixtape cuts/leaks that were played last night, we heard “Win,” “Lose My Mind” and “.38.” However, I personally think that “Flexin,” “Ballin’,” and F.A.M.E. need to be on the album. But at the end of the day I can’t really say that the album sounded like anything less than a classic the way it was presented and I’m those and other joints will be on the deluxe version.
